A little before 9 AM this morning, after hearing some commotion and excited loon calls around the Island - inside OxBow Bay, Martha observed our loon pair swimming together, and then noticing the new loon chick.

PLEASE be sure to give the loon family the space it needs during this important time for the chick. We're unsure if the family will try to stay in Oxbow Bay, or start to make their way around the lake. But, please do not approach them - give them their space.

Thanks to Martha for reaching out right away with the news so we pass it along to the lake community. Let's all work to keep the family safe this summer as the chick matures.
